If you have a mold problem you want to make sure you get it cleaned up right. Choosing a mold remediation and restoration contractor is important. You want the job done right so you don’t have to worry about potential health effects of your loved ones. However, you can’t just flip open the phonebook and hire the first contractor you see. You need to find a reputable contractor that gets the job done right. 

Ask around to people you know. Ask neighbors, co-workers, friends and family members. Find out who they used to clean up the mold problem in their home. Were they happy with their contractor? Would they use them again? Do they recommend them? A referral from someone you know goes a long way when you are trying to find a mold remediation and restoration contractor. 

Interview several contractors. Get estimates on how much it will cost to do your job. Ask if they have insurance. Ask to see proof of their work. They should have a portfolio of before and after pictures from previous jobs. These pictures will show you what they can do. They may even be able to show you video from a previous job. 

Research the companies you are considering. You don’t want to hire a company that has a bad reputation. Do a search of the company name online.  Are you finding any negative reviews from other people? You should also check their rating with groups like the Better Business Bureau. If they are reputable they will have a good rating.
