Dryer Fires are so common so let's protect our family and pets by following the information below...
How to prevent a dryer fire…
In the last 4 weeks, we have had 3 calls regarding dryer fires. It made us realize that the public needs a reminder on how to clean the lint out.
- Clean the lint out of the lint trap every time you use the dryer
- Always follow the manufacturers instructions when installing the vent pipe.
- Keep any flammables away from the dryer. (Cleaning products)
- Choose a metal duct as opposed to a foil or plastic one.
- Always read care labels on the clothes. (don’t turn the dryer on high if the articles of clothing say tumble on low)
- Check the outdoor vent on a regular basis to make sure it is free from debris.
- Clean the vents at least every 6 months
