Water Damage

Initial steps to take when Water damage occurs:

1. Remove furniture, boxes or other household items that either got wet or are in danger of getting wet. In many cases, items will be packed-out and taken to an offsite warehouse where further drying and restoration processes can be done.
2. Assess the moisture or find where the water has gone. Water travels through most surfaces and will settle at the lowest point. In most cases, most of the time you won’t feel the wetness so you will need to use some moisture detection equipment
3. Extract water if it’s sitting there. You do not want to wait for it to continue being absorbed.
4. Dry the areas that were affected. Use air movers and dehumidifiers so that the moisture can be captured and expelled so more damage does not occur.
